Our target begins within our own families and local community (see Revolution Care), the wider region of the Gold Coast and the nation of Australia (see Events). Now, in addition, our faith family has begun taking the good news of the Kingdom into the further-flung places...

As a ministry, we are currently supporting the Butel family in Thailand.

Carl, AJ and their three children are living in Chiang Rai, volunteering with 'Destiny Rescue' – rescuing and rehabilitating children trapped in sexual slavery. They have relocated the context of their lives to Northern Thailand, to serve this Christian organisation by connecting with the public - highlighting the issues and promoting solutions, along with ministering to the rescued.

The Staggering Facts

• Statistically, Thailand is in a quandary. Although prostitution in Thailand is illegal, in practice it is tolerated and partly regulated.
• A 2004 estimate gives a total of 2.8 million sex workers, including 800,000 minors under the age of 18.
• Thailand’s Health System Research Institute estimates that children in prostitution make up 40% of prostitutes in Thailand.
• Among many Thai people, there is a general attitude that prostitution has always been, and will always be, a part of the social fabric of Thailand. This cultural milieu combined with poverty and the lure of easy money have caused prostitution in general and sex tourism in particular to flourish.
• Both politicians and police have been supporting and indulging in the prostitution industry openly to the point where police utilize the services of the prostitutes to gain 'evidence'. And viagra has been given out to elderly voters in exchange for their votes.
• In the type of Buddhism practised in Thailand, women are viewed as naturally inferior to men. Buddha made clear to his disciples that women were “impure, carnal, and corrupting.” This is also evidenced by the belief that women cannot attain enlightenment.

A Revolution

However, there is a revolution coming to the whole region of South East Asia... a counter response to the existing culture... an active influence to the current system...

The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless,
and I have heard the groans of the poor.
Now I will rise up to rescue them,
as they have longed for me to do.”

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
